This week's theme is Cheesy Film and Entertainment we love (but don't really want to admit to)
Yes, I do mean cheese film…Or as this weeks’s blog goes, the guilty pleasure many of us get
from watching movies that others such as society, friends and family deem as being so bad
they’re good. But it’s not just films we secretly enjoy we like other forms of entertainment also.
Did you notice how Pokemon Go became like secret smoking amongst some adults who
perhaps felt they were too old to be running around chasing imaginary creatures in odd places.
“Honey, I’ll be back in 15mins…I’m just going for a walk to…uh… er….the store…”
Can you be non conformist and like the movie “Twilight”…? Probably not in front of all your
non-conformist friends but hey, what’s not to enjoy?! A sparkly cute guy that can speedily carry
you straight up a tree and wants to eat you all the time.
Everyone will have a different take on they they think is “bad” entertainment. So bad it’s good
entertainment has been around forever, and that’s fantastic because then we get to watch stuff
at 1:00am like “Logan's Run” or “Army of Darkness” and secretly like it without being ridiculed
by our social circles. Unless of course you’re blabbing about it to all of social media, then you’re
screwed.
Have you seen any films that were really “bad” that you liked? Come on, I know there’s
someone out there who loves “Glitter”…no? “Demolition Man”? Notice how all the cheesy
goodness seems to be from the Eighties? “Roadhouse”, “Ladyhawke”, “The Lost Boys”. What
do you suggest?
The cult classic "Logan's Run" mmm smells like seventies Velveeta and is super fun to watch!
